Dallas Cowboys set eyes on next season – NFL News
The Dallas Cowboys could not qualify for the playoffs this season, but a number of players are satisfied with the effort they put in, especially in the second half of the season, and they are now looking forward to welcoming the next season.
Although they are not getting complacent, they Cowboys certainly have much to cheer about. They rebounded strongly in the second half of the season after staging a below-par first half. They stretched their playoff chances to the maximum and were eliminated
only in the regular season finale.
The players have realised that they could have done better both as an individual and as a unit, and they are now hoping to rectify the errors they committed in the 2012 season so as to have better prospects in the 2013 season.
According to the details present on Cowboys’ website, linebacker Sean Lee said:
“The key for us now is to build on our mistakes, find a way to become better football players, and we have to find a way next year to win consistently. I think we’ve got the right guys now, and it’s a matter of staying on the field, becoming better football
players and putting it out there.”
It has been a long time since the Cowboys have won any championship, and before the start of the 2012 season it had been expected that they would qualify for the playoffs as they had a good roster.
However, that did not happen, and their roster strength was also somewhat affected due to injuries to some of their key players, including Lee.
Meanwhile, guard Nate Livings has also asserted that the whole season was not a bust for the Cowboys. He underscored the hard work the players did throughout the year to give their best on the field and mentioned that the players must now focus on further
improving during the upcoming offseason. He said:
“I’m going to be up here this offseason, a couple other guys on the line are going to be up here, and we’re just going to try to get better as a unit and just become a real, real tight unit.”
