Dallas Cowboys shift attention to Seattle Seahawks – NFL News
The Dallas Cowboys worked hard throughout the offseason to prepare for the 2012 season opener against the New York Giants, who are the defending Super Bowl champions, and now that the Cowboys have successfully marked the beginning of the new season with
a win, they are now gearing up for Week 2 game.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has urged the players to forget Week 1 game now and shift their attention towards Seattle Seahawks, who are going to host the Cowboys this Sunday.
According to Garrett, the Cowboys have taken what they needed from the victory against Giants and now there is no point of cherishing that win for so long when the road is already tough and competitive in front of them.
The Cowboys and Giants faced each other last week and with this new week the head coach wants the players to focus on new goals. According to the details present on the team’s website, Garrett said:
“It’s always a challenge to move on. We continue to preach it because we think it’s important. It’s a good philosophy for football players, teams, and it’s a good philosophy for life. We’re on to the next one. “
Meanwhile, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, who did his best to create the hype of the season opener by keep on challenging the Giants throughout the offseason, also agrees with Garrett.
Jones is pleased to see the Cowboys defeating their National Football Conference (NFC) East rivals, but the owner, too, wants the players to focus the next challenge now. Jones said:
“We’ve got to handle it in a way that is positive for our team. I think we will. The fact that we’ve had this break, it was kind of like a Thanksgiving break.”
The Cowboys are desperate to be the leaders of the NFC East when the season ends so they could qualify for the playoffs and try to get a shot at the NFC Championship and Super Bowl this year. To achieve this feat they need to work really hard and ensure
maintaining consistency throughout the season. The management seems to be aware of this fact and the players must also acknowledge it.
