Dallas Cowboys try to bury past defeats and move on – NFL News
It looks like Dallas Cowboys have accepted the philosophy of Coach Jason Garrett who encourages them to let bygones be bygones.
Cowboys had very tough last two weeks where they lost two games and surrendered their supremacy in the National Football Conference East division only to come at a tie with New York Giants for the first place in the division.
To make sure that the things do not go from bad to worse, everyone now wants to forget what happened in the past and focus on the next games.
Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo asserted on Thursday that the Cowboys are still very much in the playoff race. He was of the view that playing good game and giving the best shot could earn anyone a victory.
“You need to come back and play your best game. You need to be committed, and you need to go out and do it now. I think our team understands that and is ready to give a great effort and get on a roll.”
The Cowboys are going to take on Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Saturday. They will play their last two games of the regular season against Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants respectively. In order to top the division and reach the
postseason, the Cowboys must win all the three games.
Meanwhile, Cowboys’ kicker Dan Bailey has also said that he’s ready to forget the bleak moments of the last two games during which he failed to successfully send the ball through the uprights.
In the week-13 game against Arizona Cardinals, Bailey missed a kick that could have won the game for the Cowboys. His missed opportunity forced the game to overtime where the Cardinals scored a touchdown and got a victory.
Last week, Bailey missed a kick against the Giants when his team was trailing by three points. His successful attempt would have sent the game to overtime, but that did not happen.
The kicker is disappointed over the missed efforts, but is watching the positive side of the picture, hoping not to repeat the error in future.
"All I can do is look at it like, hey, I have experience now. These situations have presented themselves numerous times and hopefully the rest of my career if those situations come up I’ll be even more prepared,” he said.
