Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant hopes to play in Week 15 despite fractured finger – NFL News
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will play the next game against Pittsburgh Steelers, despite his fractured finger.
On Thursday, while talking to a press conference about his status for Week 15 game, Bryant said:
"Only thing y'all need to know is I'm playing,"
He did not share further information related to his surgery or what the doctors have advised him about fracture in his index finger.
Bryant got injured when Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones tackled him during fourth quarter of Week 14 game.
Bryant is a great performer and one of the best receivers in the National Football League (NFL). In last five games he has 33 receptions for 525 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
According to the Associated Press, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo talked to Bryant about his injury. Romo said:
"A lot of it is about what the doctors are telling you. What is the long-term effects? At the same time, what are the stuff that can happen each week? What if you wait a little bit? What happens if you go out now. There's a lot of different scenarios that can
play out."
Romo appreciated Bryant’s talent and his love and passion for football. According to Romo, Bryant is a competitive player, the one everybody wants to have as a teammate.
He added:
"He's got phenomenal hands, we've seen it for a long time that he is tough, he'll handle it, I'm sure. It's a process they're getting through. These trainers do a good job working through that, sure they'll handle it the right way."
Bryant has scored nine touchdowns this season. He has received 1000 yards for the first time in his career, which is a great achievement.
ESPN reported quoted a source as claiming that the doctor has confirmed that Bryant needs a surgery. If he will not go through surgery, it can cause permanent stiffness, which can affect his ability of catching passes.
