The Dallas Mavericks have bounced back against the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) finals. The Mavericks defeated the Heat convincing on Tuesday at American Airlines Centre, in Dallas, Texas. Dirk Nowitzki
helped the Mavericks in game four to even the series at 2-2.
Before that particular game Nowitzki was extremely vigilant for winning against the Heat. He gathered all his teammates and told them how badly they need to win this game. The Mavericks were down 2-1 in the best of seven series
when they faced the Heat in front of 20430 spectators on Tuesday. The Mavericks’ loyal fans were counting on them as their players also showed the utmost brilliant performance when they outscored the Heat 86-83 and took the game away with style.
When Dirk Nowitzki briefed his all teammates regarding that particular game, the only Maverick who came out with full thrust and with full dedication was Jason Terry. Terry came off the bench and posted 17 brilliant points and
three assists for the Dallas Mavericks to stay in the finals.
On Wednesday Dirk Nowitzki also appreciated Jason Terry and the way he played previous night. He spoke to the media during a practice session at American Airlines Centre in Miami. Nowitzki said, "He took it upon himself to really
drive and be in attack mode, that’s what we need out of him. He's one of our closers."
On the other hand Nowitzki also contributed 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks. The Mavericks pushed the Heat with 21-14 in the final quarter and cruised away with a fine victory. Though Nowitzki played with fever, but
he never showed any sickness on the court during the entire game.
Nowitzki played so well down the stretch as his last 10 points were scored in the final quarter when the Mavericks wanted him the most. Nowitzki never let down his team even he was carrying 38.5 Celsius (101 F) temperature.
Nowitzki is still not recovered fully, but his morale is high as ever when he told the media during his practice session on Wednesday, "I drank some fluids, drank some tea and I just feel a lot better today, I still got a little
high temperature, but the fever is basically gone."
Now the Mavericks have tied the series 2-2 as they will certainly pay a return visit in Miami for game six. Both teams are playing very aggressive basketball, but neither team have won two consecutive games so far in these finals.
However, the Dallas Mavericks are carrying their full momentum and have more chances this time around to lead the series 3-2 at Mimi’s home court American Airlines Centre.
The NBA finals are even at 2-2 and from no-wards every game will certainly be a thriller for both teams. No team wants to give any loop holes to their opponents and are preparing hard for the next encounters.
