Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Terry wants to retire with his current team: NBA Update
Dallas Mavericks and Jason Terry are two words that are synonymous with each other and the latter recently revealed that he wants to keep it that way forever.
Terry said, “It’s definitely something that I would love to see happen, Again, it gives me stability, it allows my family to know that next summer we won’t be off moving to somewhere else. So, that would be good for me. Again,
the goal is to retire a Maverick. That is the No. 1 priority for me.”
Jason Terry was the second best man in the Mavericks’ roster when they won the last season’s NBA title against the Miami Heat. Terry along with Dirk Nowitzki shattered the Heat on June 12th and won the title. Terry is
still under contact with the Dallas Mavericks, but after the 2011-2012 season, his contract will be expired and he will become free agent.
However, still no news has come from Terry’s agent Dan Fegan or the Mavericks’ team management on his new potential extension in contract. However, He further told the media and said, “I'll just put it in big, bold letters, 'I
want to retire a Maverick, period. Big period, So, whatever we have to do, whenever this thing gets back started, I'm sure we'll be able to do something to make that happen. It's definitely something I would love to see happen.”
Jason Terry has huge experience in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has almost spent twelve years and played 959 games with an average of 16.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Last season, his individual
great performance was witnessed by everybody when he helped the Mavericks to win the title after 31 years of their franchise’s history. His regular season’s average and playoffs’ average remained consistent throughout the 2010-2011.
After a great win in the NBA last season, the Mavericks’ star is now spending much of his offseason with his family. He is also enjoying giving interviews to media personalities and giving his point of view in public.
Prior to the comments of retiring as a Maverick, he has recently also spoken on the ongoing lockout which is hurting every individual who is involved with the league. Terry, who is an exceptional basketball talent, was not looking
happy when he talked about the lockout. He spoke to the media and showed his extreme frustration as his team will suffer some potential time on court while the training camps are also looking in great danger to start.
The league was locked out on July 1st when the players association and the NBA owners were failed to get a deal done on the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
