Dallas Mavericks romp past Milwaukee Bucks in massive win – NBA Recap
The Dallas Mavericks put on a fine display to completely outclass the Milwaukee Bucks at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Mavs dominated the game from start to finish against a hapless Bucks side and showed why they are the reigning NBA World
Champions with a 102 – 76 win.
Brandon Jennings was perhaps the only Milwaukee player to have come out of the game with some pride as he scored a game high 19 points. Shaun Livingston also had a decent night, coming off the bench for 15.
The points were spread out between the Dallas players as five of them got into double figures. Vince Carter had 16, Jason Terry 17 and star forward Dirk Nowitzki managed 11 in just over 22 minutes on the court.
Milwaukee were actually the sharper side in the early exchanges and surged to 11 – 7 within the first 3 minutes. Dallas then scored 9 without reply, a run capped off by a big 3-pointer from Vince Carter, and took the lead. The Bucks would go on a mini run
of their own and level the scores at 18 – 18 soon after.
Dallas though were not to be denied. They ended the first quarter on a 14 – 5 surge that put them firmly in the lead at 32 – 23. A lead they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
The Mavericks took their lead into double-digits right at the beginning of the second period as Milwaukee struggled to hold on. The Bucks were outperformed in this segment as well and finished the first half behind by 15 points at 60 – 45.
Things just kept getting worse for Milwaukee ever after the break, with the Mavericks launching a 14 – 0 burst early in the third quarter. The Bucks could only manage 18 points in the period as their spirit completely broke down and Mavs entered the last
quarter ahead by 20 points at 83 – 63.
Only more misery was in store for Milwaukee in the final period as Dallas increased their lead further, to the delight of the home crowd. In the end, the Bucks were happy to get off the court with a final score of 102 – 76.
