Dallas Stars clear Brenden Morrow, expected to play against Anaheim Ducks -NHL Update
Dallas Stars are playing back-to-back games, which has certainly taken a toll on their players as centre forward, Brenden Morrow, was placed on the injured reserve earlier prior to the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) All-Star Weekend due to neck and shoulder
injury.
Morrow missed Dallas’ final game before the break, which was against the Anaheim Ducks, to where they will be heading again on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in which Morrow is expected to play after the team announced taking him on the injured reserve a day
in advance.
For Dallas, they now can look forward to some actual competition as the second half of the season has kicked off and with a healthy roster, the Stars have some big plans lined up for the upcoming games.
"Everything looks good. Everybody looks healthy and ready," Stars’ coach, Glen Gulutzan, told ESPN Dallas. "It's going to be a big test for us now."
Playing in the West Coast for the next two, back-to-back games, Dallas has specially prepared for the two day contest. Preparing some special teams and figuring out how they could penetrate the opposing defence gives them an advantage they look to capitalise
on.
"We approached these two days like a mini-training camp," Gulutzan said. "We did some video and we went over the some of the power play and PK stuff. Moving forward that's going to be important."
Watching Morrow play will definitely be an exciting moment since there were rumours floating around the league that the Dallas Stars have their eyes set on trading their star centre for another big name player.
Contacting the Stars for comments on the issue, there was neither an answer in the positive nor negative, giving off various signals that could be interpreted in different ways.
At the moment one thing is clear and that is Dallas is ready to take on the competition with a fully healthy roster.
They are currently sitting in 10th place of the Western Conference with 52 points, tied with the Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes, making their upcoming games crucial for their hopes of gaining a playoff position as the season progresses.
