Dallas Stars determined to continue rolling against Vancouver Canucks -NHL Preview
Some might consider Dallas weak going up against Vancouver on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, but the Stars are flying high and might just get the win against the Western Conference leading Canucks team when the two meet up at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British
Columbia, Canada.
Playing at the home stadium of the competitor is always a test of its own but knowing the rowdy Vancouver crowd, Dallas will definitely not have it easy going up against Canucks.
Vancouver failed to secure a victory in their last matchup on Saturday against Buffalo Sabres and have lost to Dallas Stars before that as well on February 26, which was decided in the overtime extension.
Both Stars and Canucks have the spirit to hang on till the end but knowing how both can also take over at any time in regulation just raises the anticipation even further.
Coming back into the playoffs race after falling out midway through the 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, Dallas is now well in control of their games.
"These next 16 games now that every point's important and you can see the parity out there between the two teams and it's going to come down to that last week, so you've got to gather what you can," Dallas Stars coach, Glen Gulutzan, said.
Vancouver reached the Stanley Cup Finals last year and reaching them again would definitely be a huge accomplishment, but for a team like Dallas that has not even been in the postseason for multiple seasons now, the thirst is bigger than ever.
"We haven't been in the playoffs for a couple years," Stars’ Loui Eriksson said. "Definitely, we need to step up here. We've been playing really well lately. It's so tight in the conference. Every game is huge for us. We need to win every one here, so we
have to keep going."
Dallas is feeling the need to continue winning which just might be the deciding factor against Vancouver.
Stars and Canucks contest will begin at 10:00 PM ET.
Prediction:
Dallas Stars will manage to edge Vancouver Canucks again in an overtime extension or shootout.
