Dallas Stars dominate against the Chicago Blackhawks to win the game 5-0
Dallas Stars were high on confidence as they hosted the defending champions Chicago Blackhawks this Thursday at the American Airlines Center.
Both teams are in the Western Conference play-off cut but they need to win and score curial points to move above the tight battle for the final few play-off spots.
Both teams made a decent start to the game which resulted in the shots on goal right from the start of the proceedings.
Stars had a lot of power in the attacks which saw them getting past the opposing defence every now and then. They scored to lead at the end of the first period.
The second period was no different as Hawks tried to score but unfortunately they couldn’t.
On the other hand, Stars bagged to important goals.
The final period saw Stars scoring twice once again to win the game 5-0 in the end.
Kari Lehtonen, goalkeeper of Stars, was named the star of the game as he made 23 saves during the course of the game.
The game started with the both teams coming up with a few shots early on at the start of the first period. Though there were some chances from which they teams could have scored but their reluctance to go on full out attack didn’t see any goals.
Everything the teams did was good apart from the performance of the finishing. It wasn’t their fault too as the goal keepers looked invincible.
However, Stars managed to pile up some shots on goal and scored in the 18th minute through Steve Ott from a well placed flick shot to get into the lead. There were a few more shots but no goals were scored as the period ended with the Stars leading
1-0.
During the period, the Stars made 8 shots on goal while the Blackhawks made 11 shots on goal.
The second period saw the Stars in hot action at the start and they doubled their lead with a goal in the second minute through Jamie Benn’s quick fired shot.
The Stars continued to pile pressure on the opposing team and scored once again in the fourth minute with Brenden Morrow scoring from a well placed shot.
The period saw both teams coming up with quite a few more shots on goal but none of them found the back of the net.
Stars led 3-0 at the end of the period as they made 12 shots during the period while the Hawks made seven goal attempts.
The final period saw the Stars in superb form once again as they scored in the third minute to further extend lead. The goal was scored by Jason Williams from a well placed flick shot. The Stars sealed the game with Brandon Segal scoring in the 12th
minute.
The period and the game ended with the Stars winning the game 5-0. The final period saw the Stars making 7 shots on goal while the Hawks made 5 shots on goal.
