Dallas Stars host the inform New Jersey Devils
Another one of the must watch games of Tuesday will be the Dallas Stars playing host to the New Jersey Devils at the American Airlines Arena. This is the second and final meeting between the two sides with the Stars winning the first game 4-3 in overtime
after falling behind the Devils twice during the game.
Jamie Langenbrunner, winger of the Stars will be facing the Devils for the first time after being traded to away earlier in the season. After trading this player, the Devils fortunes have changed drastically are they are in the running for the play-offs
after they were the bottom team in the league.
Both teams will be looking to secure the two important points with the Stars looking to recover from their recent slump as the play-off talk’s start. The Devils are on the other hand are in hot form as they have their last seven straight games.
Though the Devils have been able to come up with some extravagant results, they still are recovering from the loss they suffered at the start of the season which was deficiency of wins. This past Saturday, the Devils won the game against the Carolina Hurricanes
winning them their fifteenth game in regulation time in as many as 18 games.
The win put the Devils just 10 points behind the final play-off position. The Hurricanes are in the final spot and with all the teams above the Devils losing their games, they closed the gap. This upcoming round of games will give them another chance to
close the gap on the Hurricanes as they aren’t having the best of runs in the season.
Johan Hedberg, goalkeeper of the Devils has come up with some brilliant performances that have resulted in a lot success for the Devils. The offence hasn’t been as brilliant as they have scored four or more goals on only two occasions out of the last 11
games.
Both the teams have played 59 games in the season so far. Out of these the Devils have won 25 games in regulation time, four games in overtime and scored a total of 54 points. While the Stars have won 31 games in regulation time, six games in overtime and
scored a total of 68 points.
The Stars were one of the strong teams until recently. Like the Devils, the fortunes of the Stars have also changed but for the worse for them. Unfortunately, after a brilliant start to the season the Stars have lost their last four games and a total of
eight games out of the last nine games.
The Stars have dropped to the final play-off position in the Eastern Conference and with things so tight in the Conference it looks as if they would slip further down the table. The defence and the final touching have been and still are good for the Stars
but they have lost their touch in the middle. The wingers are not putting in the expected performances which have resulted in them slipping down the league.
The game is going to be very entertaining with both teams determined to notch up points to keep up pace with others in the race for the play-offs.
