Dallas Stars winning streak ends with a 4-7 loss to Calgary Flames

Calgary Flames playing host to the Dallas Stars was the final game of Friday. This was the 711th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series which was played at the Scotiabank Saddledome with an attendance of around 19,000 fans.
This was the 48th game of the season for both sides which was evenly contested in the first period and was very tight. However, the game turned out to be a goals fiesta which saw the Calgary Flames turning the tables and in the end winning the
match 7-4. David Moss was named the star selection of the match after he scored 2 goals and made a brilliant assist.
Calgary Flames kicked off the proceedings with a lot of confidence which saw them scoring early in the 4th minute through Alex Tanguay from a decent strike to get into the lead. The home crowd went wild after this and Calgary Flames continued
to attack.
However, they were caught off guard in the 9th minute which resulted in the Dallas Stars levelling the scores with the goal scored by Brenden Morrow from a decent strike. A few minutes later, Dallas Stars with their boosted morale managed to score
once again and take the lead with the goal scored by Brad Richards.
Calgary Flames still continued to attack despite falling behind. But their positive approach to the game paid off as the home team successfully levelled the scores with 2 minutes in the period remaining through Olli Jokinen.
The period ended with the scores level on 2-2 with both teams making 7 goal attempts each.
The second period was dominated by the Calgary Flames which made regular attacks and scored as well. Dallas Stars offered late resistance which was a little too late. Calgary Flames emerged with a very strong front line in the period and scored through Mikael
Backlund from a simple tip in shot to get back into the lead in the 12th minute.
The period looked to finish with this being the only goal but as the end of the period approached, things heated up and both teams started to attack. Calgary Flames were the first to benefit from this as they scored through David Moss in the 18th
minute. The away side scored once again in the very next minute through Brendan Morrison to take the score to 5-2.
However, Dallas Stars kept chances of a comeback alive scoring just of the stroke of break. The goal was scored by Nicklas Grossman from a brilliant close range shot.
The period ended with the Calgary Flames leading 5-3 at the end of the period as they made 9 goal attempts while the Dallas Stars made 7 goal attempts.
The final started off with the Dallas Stars scoring in the very first minute through James Neal which cut the lead to just one goal. However, Calgary Flames sealed the match with goals in the 5th and 13th minutes respectively. The goal
was scored by Jarome Iginla with the later scored by David Moss from a decent strike.
The match in the end was won by the Calgary Flames 7-4 as they made 6 goal attempts in the period while Dallas Stars made 7 goal attempts.
