Dallas Stars wins 3-2 against the San Jose Sharks to deprive Sharks of their 10th consecutive win

The final game of Saturday was played at the HP Pavilion Center as the home team San Jose Sharks played host to the Dallas Stars.
The game had the Sharks as the favourites to win but the Stars also piled up some good results recently which put them into play-off contention.
The Sharks were looking for their 10th consecutive win as the game began.
However, it was the Stars who made a decent start to the game scoring the first goal.
The Sharks scored the next two goals which saw them scoring at the end of the second period, but the Stars managed to crawl their way back into the game, scoring two goals in the final period to win the game by 3-2 in the end.
Jamie Benn was the player of the night as he scored a goal and an important assist.
The Stars got off to a flying start as they bagged in couple of shots on goal after which they finally scored in the second minute to get into the lead. The goal was scored by Jamie Benn from a superb backhand shot.
The Stars continued to pile pressure on the opposing defence but couldn’t find a way through the tight defence.
Sharks, on the other hand, also got going with the passage of time and chances started to come their way as well. The Sharks finally scored in the 10th minute to level the scores.
The goal was scored by Kyle Wellwood from a brilliant strike that went flying into the back of the net.
There were a few more shots on goal as the period neared its end but the scores were still level on 1-1. During the course of the period, the Stars made 11 shots on goal while the Sharks made 8 goal attempts.
The second 20 minutes of play started off with the Sharks on top and they managed to score in the second minute to get into the lead. The goal was scored by Partick Marleau in the second minute.
The period didn’t lack shots on goal but there was lack in the department of offence to find the back of the net.
The period ended with the Sharks leading 2-1. During the period, the Sharks made 11 goal attempts while the Stars made 7 shots on goal.
The final 20 minutes of play saw the Sharks firing quite a few shots on goal but it was the Stars who proved to be the more productive side.
They scored twice during the period through Loui Eriksson and Jason Williams in the 8th and 13th minutes respectively to win the game 3-2 in the end.
The final period saw the Sharks making 12 goal attempts while the Stars made 10 goal attempts.
