Dallas to New York, what do I need?

I was recently invited to an all expense paid trip to New York. Obviously, I would like to go. What I need to know is; What do I need to take? I don't mean like "Tooth brush, clean clothes" etc. I mean, am I going need a passport? Even though we'll still be in America the whole time? Will I need anything else? Please let me know =]

A passport is not necessary for travel within the US. A photo ID is required, though, and a passport fits that bill if you don't have a driver's license.

Photo I.D. and money.  Take cash as well as a credit card b/c there are lots of little delis/shops/bodegas in NYC that don't take credit and if they do you have to spend a set amount.  If you've never been to NYC before and your trip is not a guided tour, I would recommend trying to purchase/download a NYC subway map beforehand and look at it.  I'd also decide what you want to do while you're there and chart them on the map as well as your hotel.  I used to live in Manhattan and if you've never been there before, it will probably be a little overwhelming at first!  Good luck and have fun, I love that place!

A photo id, and some money.  All expenses paid doesn't necessarily mean all your meals will be covered.  Plus you might want to buy a few things while you're there.

You'll need a government issued photo ID.  It can be a passport, drivers license, or other ID issued by national, state or local government.

You'll need a debit or credit card -- don't carry much cash.  NY is very expensive, and I'm sure there will be things you'll want to buy.

Something tells me you are going to be a teeny bit overwhelmed in NYC if you don't know whether you need a passport.  I hope your trip includes many escorted/planned activities.  If not, plan on Greyline tours to assure you don't get lost and stay safe.
