Who remembers the goal by brett hull I think it was him that won the game for the stars to capture their first stanley cup final in the nhl. Does anyone remember the part where hull supposedly stepped in the crease line it was so close buffalo fans said it was no good and said that game has never been finished it was very close to call nhl fans what do you think.

  1. I saw the replay with his foot in the crease, but none of the footage of the action before hand. If he were pushed in or the puck were loose in the crease it would be a legal goal. Heck of a contreversy back then too bad for the Sabers. The other time they were in the finals during the mid seventies they were overcome by a fogbank in the stadium.

  2. I Remember That

He Was In The Crease and It Was Not Called As A Goal Even Though It Looked Like One..

The Game Lasted Triple (3) Overtime.. They needed a rest so Dallas won with the Goal from Brett Hull

  3. that debate is still alive in the hearts of sabres fans im almost 100% sure on that one

  4. A)  It was 9 years ago

    B)  It was 9 years ago

    C) It happened when the eastern half of North America should have been asleep

    D) It was 9 God d**n years ago

I remember the game.  Dallas was controlling the play ( they had outshot Buffalo in each regular and overtime period) and it was inevitable they scored.  The referee took advantage of the warroom being asleep (like everyone else in North America) and let the goal stand!

You don't hear Flyers fans complain about 1980

You don't hear Stars fans complain about 1991

Between Norwood's missed kick and Brett Hull's goal, Buffalo has enough to complain about for the next 40 centuries

  5. yea we remember it. then hasek and hull both came to detroit and hasek never got over it and never spoke to brett hull

  6. He was definitely in the crease (I have a poster of an overhead shot and his whole skate is in the crease).

I remember the NHL used the excuse (and I use that term loosely) that because Hull NEVER lost control of the puck, it was a legal goal.

The next day ESPN showed a montage of 10 similar goals which counted that year.

As a fan of neither team, I wanted Buffalo to win.  So, I'm with Lindy Ruff on this one.

  7. they reviewed it for a million years, it was a goal, the stars won, its history, the sabres fans need to get over it. it was almost a decade ago.

  8. Goal and the game is over. Sabre fans need to get over it.

  9. Do I remember it? I was at the game, and I still say IT WASN"T A GOAL GOD DAMMIT!!!!
