Damage/repair cost for not winterizing boat??

First time boat owner. Made big mistake of not winterizing boat last season. Took boat out to lake, ran okay but engine area started smoking. What damage (s) can be done from not winterizing and the cost of repair? Its 2007 Bayliner 4.3 merc engine. HELP!!!

sorry to say, he's right.  the smoke tells you that you have leak caused when water froze and cracked something open.  Cylinder head if you're lucky, engine block if you're not.

Depending on whether you cracked the head or the block, you could be looking at 3000 to 5000.  If you cracked the heads, 1000 to 2000.  Without taking it apart and looking at it, its tough to say for sure.
