Question:

Damaged Bios

When I was upgrading the BIOS in my Satellite 1955-S807 the power went off resulting in the BIOS being damaged (apparently) I assume it was damaged because the instructions warned about making sure the power would not go off during the upgrade process. The laptop which was working beautifully for the last 3 years just died. A toshiba service repair center wanted to replaced the motherboard that costs more a new laptop. The question is: is there anyway to repair the damaged BIOS without having to replace parts, I understand it is a programming problem what I have not a hardware break as such. Thanks a lot
