Hello, recently I accidently elbowed my hdtv lcd screen on the mid-top area of the screen. I did not think anything was wrong at the point since there wasnt a crack, until i onned it. There were a bunch of lines running from the top of the screen to the bottom ranging from various colours, and the area of where i elbowed it, it shows the image of a crack, probably a glass behind the outside screen.

So I was wondering if it can be repaired. And how much the price would be to fix it at a repair shop.

Edit: The brand of the TV is spectroniq

  1. The only way to repair it is to replace the LCD panel. But doing that costs about as much as a new HDTV so people don't do it.

The only possible value of your HDTV would be if someone needed a board out of that specific model to repair another TV. Even with e-bay that sounds like a long shot.

Unfortunately LCD screens are very susceptible to impact damage. There are plenty of similar questions from people who's HDTV got hit by Flying Wii remotes, plastic BBs, and miscellaneous stuff thrown by little kids.

  2. if yo uplan on sending it to the manufacturer, dont tell them what happend
