So.. please dont go on about how stupid ive been by bleaching my own hair, i know all this already.

basically it went ginger which i knew would happen but i didnt mind that cause i just wanted the black out of my hair, but now my hair is sooo damaged and its starting to break off. i've been using aussie 3 minute miracle everytime i wash my hair but its not making a difference, so today i bought vo5 hot oil treatments and an expensive herbal shampoo from holland and barrats thats for dry damaged hair, i will continue to use the aussie conditioner but do you think this will strengthen my hair because i really dont want to cut it, and if you know any other remidies i can use?

please dont say go to a hairdressers, they'll just look down on you and make me feel 2 inches small and i really dont want to cut it short.

thanks for any help.

  1. Darlin', I hate to be the barer of bad news but nails and hair are two things I can name off the top of my head that do not mend.  Once hair is damaged to a certain degree there is nothing you can do.  Products are made to help hair that needs a boost of color, conditioner, shine, strength but they do not regenerate or improve "damaged" hair. You will need to have your hair cut.  No avacado, honey mayo mask is going to cut it in this case.  In the future if you want to remove color use "uncolor" it works quicker and with less damage then trying to remove color with bleach.

  2. Hi, start using some Redken products like All Soft shampoos and conditioners excessively dry, damaged frizzy hair smooth down conditioner smooth and tames Redken All Soft Heavy Cream super treatment for dry- brittle damaged hair it has Avocado oil to soften brittle hair, Redken All Soft Silk Fuel treatment it is a box with 5- treatments in it it's a deep-conditioner treatment for the hair to replace the oils back into your hair to make it healthy and shiny, and other product that is great to is Biosik Hydrating shampoos and conditioners deep moisturizing for dry, damaged and chemically treated hair.  You can get these at sally's beauty supply stores and I have seen them at Walgreen store and at Meijer store, CVS stores, you will see and feel the different these products can do for your hair I would go with the Redken products.

  3. This is exactly what happened to my hair and bleach does dry it out. I use Aussi 3 minute miracle aswell and after about a week your hair will be in condition. Its a good remidie. Definetly carrying using it..

    I also reccommend if you dont like the ginger go straight away to get it done professionly.. it may be pricey but never use homekits because if your hair is naturally dark and you want it blonde itt will NEVER go blonde unless you get it done in a salon. What they did to me is they told me i will have to tone it down to a light brown colour and not dye it for a couple of months then every time i go to the salon.. i can get it lighter everytime. I also definetly reccomend that you use deep cleansing treatments for your hair cos you used bleach. You can buy a deep cleansing mask from supermarkets or a hair salon... Or buy a toner like for example John frieda Toner booster.. it gets rid of brassiness and yellowish in only 3 washes or another good remedie is a Silver toned Shampoo.. these definetly gets rid of yellowness in hair.. you can get a good one at a hair salon.

    Also.. if you still want your hair blonde.. you need 2 use bleach if your naturally dark so instead ask your hairdresser to use blonde highlights instead!

    Hope this helps...x

  4. Do you have a Sally's Beauty Supply where you live?  If so, go in and ask what they have for your hair type.  You  see, all of the employees there are have their degree. If not, then just bite the bullet and go to a salon Let it be known right off the bat that you are not paying for critisim- just for help.

  5. It's Okay.  Go ahead and try the herbal shampoo for a while.  Vo5 will not work.  Get some hydrating oils for your hair.  Wash it every other day.  keep your hair down.  Try to use hair wax at the tips of you hair.  One thing you may need to do is to trim off about and inch.  Because if your hair is breaking it won't grow.  So if it doesnt grow for oh say a year, then it's just like getting your hair cut all the time.  Ya know?  Well good luck and i hope i helped.  ;)

  6. If there are any beauty schools in your area you could get pretty much any treatment done for about a quarter of the price....such as deep conditioning.  Actually Places like Great Clips and Hair Cutlery have treatments for about $10, and take about a half hr.

    I had a similar experience....I permed my hair and it never took, just got SUPER damaged.  3 yrs later its still not the same, super frizzy.damaged.  But Conditioning treatments do help, I try to get them every other week or so.  Also, use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner.  I would not recommend any heat styling either.

    Try a hair mask that you can use in the shower as well.

  7. you should go to hospital and pretend your in pain because of it, they'll need to do something LOLOLOLOLOL

  8. Copy a pic. of what it looks like so we can get a better idea on what you need.

  9. When your hair gets fried that much there's not much you can do. BUT! i have a few secret remedies that might help.

    If you wash your hair with any of these three items(oatmeal,Mayo,or lemon juice) your hair should stop spazing out so much. If they don't work then there is only one thing to do. Hair reconstruction. Which is a lot of money but, one of the three items should work!

  10. Here is what I would do.  Take Olive Oil and warn it up and rub it into your hair.  Let it sit for awhile.  This will work as a conditioner or hot oil treatment.. it's great for hair.  Shampoo out after it's been in for at least 30 minutes.  Even if you can go sit in the sun and lay out or something, the heat will help.  Then besides that don't wash your hair every day.  Wash it every other day.  The natural oils are great for your hair and you will begin to notice a big difference.  On your "dirty" hair days just pull your hair back in a messy pony or something...

    Good Luck

  11. Go to a beauty store like Sally beauty supplies. Get these conditioner packets that are called protein packs. Put them in your hair and leave them for like 5 min. I bleached my hair and that worked for me. Also use Herbal essences long term relationship leave in conditioner, put it in after you shower.

  12. awww. i really do feel for you. I think that this time youve learnt your lesson with the home bleaching and you wont do it again, hopefully! Ive found that most high street products dont really work at all. Ive had VO5 hot oils before for my hair and ive never found them that useful and they didnt make a big difference. As for the Holland and Barret mixture im not sure, it might work, might not. I know you didnt want to hear this but I am going to suggest that you to the hairdressers and get your hair recoloured, this can make your hair shiny and glossy and definately look nicer, they will also be able to reccomend you conditioners that really do work. I know you say they will make you look 2inches small but believe me there hairdressers, people do silly things with there hair all the time, they see it day in day out.! Hair thats gone green cus of dying, hair that theyve tried unsucessfully to cut themselves. So dont be embarrased about it at all. Afterall your paying them for what they do and if they are rude to you at all you have the right to complain.

    ive found this site which may help, but yeah try leaving in a really good conditioner over night, the longer the better in this case! best answer please, im really new too this and tryed extra hard. (: xxxx

  13. All you can do to fix it is NOT to do the following;

    colour it

    straighten, curl, blow dry

    put it up in a pony or anything  {It will make it break}

    Here is a recipe for a conditioning treatment:

    healing therapy conditioner

    honey

    tea bag {soak for 2 minutes}

    MIx it up and put on hair for 30  minutes ; wash out.

    Good Luck

  14. I am a hairstylist and a colour educator and I will not make fun of you because there are people this happens to all the time :-). If you didn't trim it you may need to. First, the oil won't hurt but it won't be enough alone. Kpak by joico is fairly inexpensive compared to others and it works well.Then get a conditioner with keratin and protein. Shampoo, rinse, put conditioner on and leave it at least 10 mins, longer if you can. Rinse with cool to tepid water (not hot). Extreme anti snap by Redken is a great leave in that will help tremendously with breakage. Use it every time you shampoo your hair. If these don't work there is not much else you can do but keep trimming hun. I have been where you are because of perming bleached hair (my own) so give it a try! Good Luck!

  15. Shave it bald

  16. Well, unfortunately there's no quick fix, your hair's been damaged, all you can do it wait for it to grow out. You can put a toner/wash out colour over the top if you want to cover up the ginger, go for a mid brown semi permanent dye, preferably a herbal one as this will not cause any more damage.

    All you can do is treat your now distressed hair with some tender loving care, try to keep blow-drying and straightening to a bare minimum. Buy an intensive repairing conditioner, any one will do and comb through freshly washed damp hair with a wide toothed comb, then wrap a damp warm towel around your hair and leave on for half an hour, this will help the conditioner to penetrate deep into the hair and make it look in better condition. Olive oil is also extremely nourishing for the hair, you could do the same as I just described but with Olive oil if you want, you will need to shampoo a couple of times to ensure it's all rinsed out though. When my hair's been really dry before I have left Conditioner on all night and rinsed it out in the morning.

    If it's breaking off a lot then just try not to touch it too much. Good luck and I hope you like my tips :)
