Damerstown Brave and Barnagrane Barry joint favourites for The Ideas Pad Company Stakes
Damerstown Brave and Barnagrane Barry are set to lock horns in The Ideas Pad Company Stakes at Belle Vue in England on Thursday, May 10, 2012. The winner of the Grade A1 event will be given a cash prize of £106.
The 470 metres flat race is scheduled to start at 21:11 GMT and a total of six runners have been attracted towards it. Their names are as follows: Damerstown Brave, Barnagrane Barry, Swift Drift, Tullymurry Bono, Tyrur Babylon and Paving Schedule.
The bookmakers believe that Damerstown Brave and Barnagrane Barry are closely matched hounds and will give a tough time to each other, thus both have been awarded with pretty decent odds.
However, the punters might risk more money in favour of the latter hound, who seems to be in better rhythm compared to his rivals.
The J. McCombe’s trainee is in excellent form at the moment and it will be hard to match his speed and stamina in the race. He has been delivering some positive results over the past few months and is expected to be highly competitive today.
In his most recent race, the black dog finished runner up by just a head distance. He was rated as the favourite to win, but failed to meet the expectations of the bookmakers. However, he has the ability to make a strong comeback at Belle Vue, as he is an
experienced campaigner.
Barnagrane Barry is the son of Hondo Black out of Repentance and was born in August 2008.
On the other hand, Damerstown Brave is also carrying good momentum at the moment and might bring up another victory at Belle Vue. He was victorious in his most recent race at this venue, which shows the kind of form he is in.
The J. B. Thompson’s trainee can be a touch inconsistent at times, which will discourage the punters from risking money in his favour. He will need to be at his absolute best in order to take the top spot. He is the son of Balintore Brave out of Drop Off
Sticks and was born in August 2009.
Other than the joint favourites, Swift Drift might also manage to make an impression in the race.
