Damp/water proofing speakers

Question

i have a set of speakers which i would likt to use in a room that contains a hot tub.this room due to the hottub is humid.i was planing on encasing the speakers in a pvc shell.my worries are tho that this will muffle the sound.any recomendations on how to protect the speakers from water without using pvc?

You can't - not successfully anyway.  Covering them in PVC, in a hot room will just encourage condensation to form on the inside.

Buy a set of all-weather speakers instead.

Just buy some outdoor speakers. the kind for boats. there are some very good ones.
