Dan Biggar looks forward to duel with Jonny Wilkinson
Ospreys out-half Dan Biggar is relishing going head to head with Jonny Wilkinson in the Heineken Cup this Saturday.
Wilkinson and Biggar are expected to line up for their respective teams at the Stade Felix-Mayol in Toulon.
Biggar compared the chance of competing against Wilkinson as a childhood dream and said, “It will be a dream come true to play against Jonny. Just for me it will be a privilege to step on the same field as him and hopefully give him as good as he gets."
The Ospreys fly-half added: "Ideally it would be good if he wasn't playing for a team [perspective]. He doesn't need me to tell him how good he has been over the past 10 years in international rugby."
Toulon are expected to be strong contenders for the Heineken Cup after recruiting a number of high profile players over the past few seasons and they will be given the tag of slight favourites due to the home draw.
However, a number of big names may become casualties as all four sides would have lofty aspirations of going far in the competition despite being placed in the group of death.
Munster take on London Irish in the other game in the pool which will be another closely fought battle.
Biggar said, “We have been drawn another hard pool again this year [and] whoever comes out of that pool will have deserved their place in the last eight thoroughly."
The Welsh international believes that the match could be one of the games of the tournament and said, "This one is all fired up for an absolute cracker. Hopefully the sun will be out on Saturday afternoon and it will be nice to kick off at 2.30, a good rugby
kick-off time.”
"The players they have got [and] the players we've got we are going to go at it hammer and tong. I think it's going to be an exciting, really fast game, and we will be looking to put on a show,” added the out-half.
