Dan Carter eyes fourth Super Rugby title with Crusaders - Super Rugby News
Dan Carter, who will be playing the sixth final of his Super Rugby career, is looking forward to winning his fourth title on July 9, against the Reds. Dan Carter has helped his side with plenty of scores in the current championship especially when he produced
one of the best performances for the Crusaders in the semi-final against the Stormers on July 2. He kicked five penalties and two conversion shots for his team to score 19 individual points in the play-off contest.
Dan Carter has always remained consistent with his hefty performances for the All Blacks and Crusaders. The fly-half is the highest individual point scorer in the history of Super Rugby. Carter has scored 1174 points for the Crusaders in his decade long
Super Rugby career. Meanwhile, he has also grabbed the Super Rugby record for scoring the most points on conversion kicks with the figures of 182.
Carter made his Super Rugby debut in 2001 and has been playing for the same side ever since. He was picked up for the national All Blacks side in 2003 for his brilliant output in Super Rugby seasons. He proved a excellent selection for the All Blacks in
his very first international game, scoring 20 individual points against Wales.
Talking to the media on July 5, Carter said that wining the final of the current Super Rugby championship would be a great achievement for his team. He added that, "To win this competition would be very special for us after everything we have been through
and also for the people back home. After everything we have been through, this just makes us tighter. Everyone would be disappointed if we didn't go all the way - not a lot has to be said."
He also thanked the Crusaders supporters and said that, "A lot of people are patting us on the back already and telling us we have done well to get this far, but I know this side would not have been happy bumming out in the semi-final."
The Crusaders will be looking towards their star player, Dan Carter, to repeat the semi-final performance against the Queensland Reds on July 9.
