Dan Carter to play as Vice Captain for Crusaders
Crusaders and All Black superstar Dan Carter has been appointed as the vice captain of the Crusaders. He will be partially leading his side in the Super Rugby 2001 season. Carter is currently the top test scorer right now with a score of 1176 points in just
76 matches and has earned 82 caps overall.
This move clearly states the intentions of the manager of Crusaders, as he is looking forward to make him the next skipper for his side. Todd Blackadder the coach for Crusaders said, “Dan Carter vice skipper for the Crusaders this season and he's just taken
a real lead.”
Richie McCaw will remain as the Crusader’s skipper but till he is sidelined due to rest, Kieran Read will be taking charge of the position with Dan Carter as vice captain. Richie McCaw will be back in the 3rdround to claim his reign again.
Blackadder added, “I think it's really imperative to have a vice captain and if something happens to Reado we've got a head all ready to go; it's just a part of succession arrangement and making sure that worst case scenario, we're already working on our
leadership model and these guys are used to leading.”
Carter is looking forward that everything goes all right, because if it does then it will be a colossal year for the superstar. After undergoing surgery, this will be his opportunity to get back into hi older form and turn heads again.
Carter talked to media regarding this new development assuring his motivation level at top. He said, “I'm feeling truly excellent I've had a few complaints leading into the last few seasons but at this point in time I have no evils at all.”
After enjoying a long break Carter is all set to tale on the field with his new post and he is invigorated and in better form. The revitalized 28 year old Carter talking about his World Cup hopes said, “Evidently it's in the back of a lot of guys' brain,
a lot of guys are playing for posts further on in the season, but the atmosphere we got here in the Crusaders is exclusively paying attention on this squad and it's all about giving to the team which is incredible.”
