Dan Hardy takes on Duane Ludwig at UFC 146 at MGM Grand Garden Arena – UFC news
The management of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is close to finalise its 146th pay-per-view and according to a recent announcement, a new brawl has been setup between Dan Hardy and Duane Ludwig in the welterweight division.
Camps of both the sides have verbally agreed for the bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in a non-title three-round bout and a written agreement for the finalisation of the contract and additional facets are still underway.
The May 26, 2012 pay-per-view is expected to be headlined by the bout between Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem whereas Edson Barboza versus Evan Dunham co-main event is also under consideration.
Dan, infamous as ‘The Outlaw’, will basically make a comeback since he had been dormant for the past few months. The Briton Hardy is currently going through a tough time. He has lost all of his last four brawls consecutively against George St. Pierre, Carlos
Condit, Anthony Johnson, and Chris Lytle.
After his last defeat in August 2011, the former number one UFC welterweight contender left the octagon to train and cover up his deficiencies and will now make a return against the American Bang Ludwig. Dan has been in a total 33 brawls and has won 23.
He has collected eleven of his wins by knockout, four by submission, and eight by either unanimous or split decision.
His stats show that he is a straight striking player who lacks the submission capabilities substantially. It is this reason why he went especially to Las Vegas to train alongside Roy Nelson in order to improve his submission manoeuvres. Ludwig, interestingly,
has also entered the octagon a total 33 times and has won 21 brawls.
He has also collected eleven of his wins by kayo, five by submission, and five by decision. Both men are almost equivalent when it comes to stats but Dan might have an upper hand since he direly needs to break the four-lose streak and he has underwent special
training for it as well.
The UFC fans might see a bit different ‘Outlaw’ this time since he might use a new fight strategy altogether. Ludwig will also try to get a win over the returning brawler to compensate his recent loss against Josh Neer. Both men will give each other a tough
time as they possess their own unique intimidating brawling abilities.
