Dan J Wallace clinches Men’s 200m IM gold medal – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Dan J Wallace of GSC-FL clinched gold medal of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on final day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 19-year-old Wallace destroyed hopes of his supporters by claiming gold medal of the 200m discipline. He showered his expertise in the IM event and managed to outperform his strongest opponent over the finishing end for the crown.
With his epic pace and laudable start, he was just an inch ahead of his following swimmer and posted a time of 2 minutes and 07.07 seconds for gold medal.
His title-claiming effort remained 0.02 seconds faster from Jason S Coombs of BD-FL, who followed him on the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 07.09 seconds.
Third position of the discipline was secured by Connor J Signorin of PAA-NJ, who stayed 2.17 seconds apart and completed the medal rostrum by winning bronze medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 09.26 seconds.
Signorin was chased by Matthew D Elliott of PAWW-FL, who was one and a half body length behind and settled on the finishing blockade as fourth best finisher with the timing of 2 minutes and 10.71 seconds.
The 19-year-old Signorin was chased by Caeleb R Dressel of BSS-FL, who stayed 0.24 seconds apart and clocked a timing of 2 minutes and 10.95 seconds for fifth position.
Subsequently, Dressel remained 0.36 seconds faster from Alexander S Martin of GSC-FL, who finished his swim in sixth best place by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 11.31 seconds.
Martin was followed by Teo A D’Alessandro of BSS-FL, who stayed prominent for seventh position of the event by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 12.44 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was gained by Joseph I Schooling of BSS-FL, who was almost one body length apart and finished last with the timing of 2 minutes and 13.13 seconds.
In addition, the winners collected medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the prize ceremony while the session ended after the conclusion of event.
