Dan Miller takes on Ricardo Funch and Rick Story duel’s Rich Attonito on UFC on FX4 - UFC news
According to the recent announcement made by Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC’s) management, Dan Miller will take on Ricardo Funch and Rick Story will skirmish Rich Attonito in three-round non-title welterweight bouts on UFC on FX 4.
The pay-per-view is expected to take place on June 22, 2012 and the octagon will be stretched at Revel Casino situated in Atlantic City, New Jersey, United States. The event, which will be headlined by the brawl between Gray Maynard and Clay Guida, will
be the fourth show to be televised by Fox channel.
Dan, 30, is considered as a talented brawler who impressively kicked off his UFC career in 2008. The American former middleweight collected three straight wins until his bad days came and he was put in a bout against Chael Sonnen.
The result was evident not because Dan was a low calibre brawler but because Chael, the number one middleweight contender, was the best man with much talent and ability in his legs and fists.
From then onwards Dan lost two more bouts to Demian Maia and Michael Bisping and later on collected two consecutive wins against Joe Doerksen and John Salter. Dan has been facing tough times not only inside the octagon but also in his personal life since
he lost a new born baby and was concerned about the well being of his other child who was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease.
The personal problems and bouts with ace, hardcore brawlers tarnished Dan’s resume, the reason why he has now decided to move down to the welterweight division. Dan has been in a total 20 mixed martial art bouts and emerged victorious in 13.
Dan’s opponent Ricardo Funch is also coming from a tough cycle and has lost three of his last five skirmishes. Ricardo, also known as ‘The Golden Boy’, has been in a total 11 mixed martial art bouts and came out victorious in eight. He has fought three bouts
in UFC and unfortunately lost all of them.
In the second welterweight bout announced by UFC, Rick Story, infamous as the ‘Horror’, will take on Rich Attonito in a non-title three-round bout. Rick has been in a total 18 mixed martial art encounters and came out victorious in 13. He has collected three
of his wins by KO and another three by submission.
Rich, well known as ‘The Raging Bull’, has been in a total 15 bouts and emerged as a victor in 10. He has collected four of his total wins by knockout and two by submission. Rick is coming from a dual loss to Martin Kampmann and Charlie Brenneman whereas
Rich also collected a loss in his last bout against Jake Hecht.
