Dynamo Moscow’s potential target, Petrescu, has insisted that he wants a new challenge in his career after saying farewell to the Russian Premier League club
Kuban Krasnodar head coach, Dan Petrescu, has resigned from the managerial position, saying that he needs a new challenge in his career. The 44-year-old coach terminated his ongoing contract with the Russian outfit that was supposed
to end in June, next year.
“I arrived at Kuban at a time when the club was not in a best condition. I talked with the president and chief investor, who liked my plans for the club. Their enthusiasm and belief in a dream filled me with energy, and I moved
to another country, in a totally unfamiliar championship to lead a team of first division in the European Cups.”
“Now I need a change, a new challenge. So I asked the club management to let me go, and very grateful to them for understanding. I can be proud of everything done at Kuban.” The former Sheffield Wednesday player was quoted as saying.
Petrescu, who joined Kuban from Unirea Urziceni in 2010 and promoted the Cossacks from the Russian First Division in his debut season, revealed that he tried his level best to transform the Russian outfit as one of the best clubs
in the Russian championship.
The Yellow-greens are reportedly weighing up a move for former Anzhi Makhachkala manager, Yuri Krasnozhan.
Kuban’s Athletic director, Sergey Doroshenko, has confirmed that the Russian outfit is negotiating with several candidates for the managerial vacancy including Krasnozhan. He told the media that they are now looking for expert-level
abilities in their new manager.
If speculations are to be believed, Dynamo Moscow are keeping tabs on the Romanian after Sergei Silkin’s shocking departure from Arena Khimki, last month. Silkin resigned after a series of disappointing league results.
Media reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 had linked Alania Vladikavkaz president, Valery Gazzaev, to the Moscow-based club. However, the Dinamiki turned their attention to Petrescu after failing to persuade Gazzaev to come to Moscow.
However, Petrescu remained tight lipped over discussing his future plans, saying that he would not like to make further comments on his future http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
