Dan Petrescu admits pleasure in leading Kuban Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League and reiterates his desire to claim a UEFA Europa League spot this season.
With quality performances and back-to-back Russian Premier League wins, Kuban Krasnodar have stunned their counter parts in their debut season in the top tier, claiming a mid-table spot in no time. However they are still five points
adrift of a UEFA Europa League spot this season.
Dan Petrescu, who joined the ambitious Russian side from Unirea Urziceni, has expressed his satisfaction on the lifters' league form and credited the Russian outfit for all the hard work.
The Romanian national has been an inspirational figure and played a vital role in building up their confidence since joining the Russian outfit. He promoted the Yellow-Greens to the Russian top division, after winning the Russian
First Division in his debut season.
Petrescu extended his stay at the Russian outfit until June 2015 last month, and while his chemistry is working well with the Russian outfit, he expects a difficult third round ahead after promising Kuban’s faithful a European
spot this season.

But while the club have done good business since his arrival, Petrescu believes Kuban was a lot different when he joined.
“When I joined the club, I have had more or less five people in my first workout. It was difficult but we still managed to win the league. There’s a huge difference between the first division and Premier League.” Petrescu concluded.
