Dan Wallace captures Men’s 400m IM gold – USA Swimming Sectionals, Fort Lauderdale
Dan Wallace of Gator Swim Club captured gold medal of the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on second day of the 2012 USA Swimming Sectionals in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, July 13.
Wallace faced no trouble in securing gold medal of the distant IM event and overpowered his opponents for gold medal in a comfortable manner.
With his stupendous efforts in the eight-lap discipline, Wallace outsmarted his challengers and reached the podium for gold medal. His commendable efforts placed him considerably ahead of his opponents and he enjoyed his victory with an aggressive lead of
4.08 seconds as  he posted a time of 4 minutes and 27.72 seconds.
The champion was chased by Nicholas Schwab of Indiana University, who was four body lengths apart and reached the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 31.80 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Gabriel Pedrao of Una Dana-FG, who remained much slower from his foregoing finisher and occupied bronze medal of the discipline with the timing of 4 minutes and 35.69 seconds.
Fourth spot of the discipline was secured by Jean Lui Gomez of Naco-ZZ, who stayed almost 1.50 seconds behind and tapped the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 37.03 seconds.
The 21-year-old Gomez was chased by Julian Radice of Metro Aquatic Club, who stayed two body lengths behind and touched the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 39.23 seconds for fifth position.
Radice was chased by Cameron Chambers of Shark Aquatics-F, who proved his eligibility for sixth finest spot of the race by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 41.00 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was secured by De Pawlikowski of Una MACM-FG, who tapped the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 43.70 seconds.
Last spot of the race was secured by Christopher Downing of Charles River Aquatics, who ended eighth in the event with the timing of 4 minutes and 47.01 seconds.
Furthermore, Wallace was thrilled with his success in the 400m event and said that he would try his best to continue the same in future events.
