Dana Grindall claims 100 yard butterfly crown in Connecticut: High School State Championships
The 2011 High School State Championships were conducted in New Haven, Connecticut, from November 18-19, where the session of the championships observed several scintillating performances. JR Amity Dana Grindall’s performance was the among the best as she
demolished her opponents by beating the finishing divider in a nerve wrecking mark of 54.20 seconds to claim the Girl’s 100 yard butterfly title.
In the meantime, Morgan Karetnick of SR Greenwich earned silver medal by claiming the finishing hurdle in a time of 55.35 seconds in the respective race. In addition, the bronze title went to Madeline Rusch of JR New Canaan in a winning blot of 57.02 seconds.
 
SR Trumbull’s Jazzi Cooper got fourth position in the respective competition by striking the finishing blockade in a spot of 57.94 seconds, while Caroline O’Brien of JR Wilton settled at fifth place in a spot of 58.35 seconds. Megan Gray of SR Westhill/Stamf
finished sixth in a time of 58.81 seconds, whereas, Kristina Tougas of JR Wethersfield settled at seventh place in a mark of 58.86 seconds, respectively.
Meanwhile, Emma Tobey of SR New Canaan grabbed eighth spot in the respective splash by banging the finishing fence in a spot of 58.97 seconds and Lindsay Smalec of FR Cheshire settled at ninth place in a mark of 59.21 seconds.
Helen Park of SO Sacred Heart AC got tenth position in a time of 59.51 seconds, whereas, Paige Delago of FR McMahon/Norwalk settled at eleventh spot in a mark of 59.55 seconds. JR Trumbull’s athlete Lisa Ward earned twelfth position in a time of 59.68 seconds,
while Kate Madoff of JR Greenwich secured thirteenth spot after she touched the finishing wall to ender swim in 59.75 seconds.
Additionally, JR Amity’s Lindsay Morton got fourteenth position in the respective contest in a blot of 1 minute and 00.03 seconds. Finally, the fifteenth spot went to SO Wilton’s Stephanie Moriarty in a mark of 1 minute and 00.11 seconds. Owing to her incredible
performance, Dana Grindall was awarded the gold medal after session’s conclusion.
