Dana Vollmer captures the Women’s 100m butterfly title - Day two Charlotte UltraSwim
At the end of the second day of the Charlotte UltraSwim, Dana Vollmer of California had captured the gold medal in the Women’s 100m butterfly with a winning time of 57.82 at Charlotte in North Carolina on Friday, May 13.
Meanwhile, Elaine Breeden took the silver title with a time of 59.26 and Christine Magnuson of Tucson Ford grabbed the bronze in time of 59.66 in the following meet.
In the Women’s 200m freestyle final, Missy Franklin of Colorado Stars took home the gold medal with a sterling time of 1:57.66 and broke her previous record of 1:58.67 in the respective meet.
On the other hand, Allison Schmitt earned silver with a time of 1:58.18 and Dana Vollmer of California wound up third in a time of 1:59.65 in the following event.
“It was a lot of fun and an amazing race. There were so many good people in it like Allison [Schmitt], Dana [Vollmer] and Chloe [Sutton]. Before the race, my coach told me to swim my own race and that’s what I did,” said Franklin.
In the meantime, the Men’s 100m breaststroke title was captured by Eric Shanteau with an outstanding time of 1:01.49. Vlad Polyakov of South Florida earned second place with a time of 1:02.04, while Mark Gangloff of New York settled third in a time of 1:02.08.

Tyler McGill of Auburn won the Men’s 100m butterfly final with a sterling time of 53.15. Eugene Godsoe of SwimMAC took the second place with a winning time of 53.22, while Tim Phillips of Ohio State wound up third in time of 53.26.
In the Women’s 400m IM event, Katinka Hosszu picked up the top seed with a time of 4:45.57, while Allysa Vavra of Indiana earned silver with a 4:47.73 and Barbara Jardin of PPO Montreal finished third in a time of 4:48.48. Elizabeth Beisel of Bluefish earned
fourth with a time of 4:50.40 in the respective meet.
Yannick Lebherz of Germany captured the golden crown in the Men’s 400m IM with a winning time of 4:21.40, while William Harris of Poseidon wound up second in 4:23.51 and Andrew Ford of Swim Ontario earned third in a time of 4:27.27.

Lebherz was immensely delighted and pleased with his remarkable and competitive performance in the 400m IM last night at Charlotte in North Carolina.
Last, but not the least, Colorado Stars' Kara Lynn Joyce, Jordan Mattern, Caroline Piehl and Missy Franklin of Colorado nabbed the Women's 400m free relay title with a sterling time of 3:45.73, while Eugene Godsoe, Cullen Jones, Josh Schneider and Nick Brunelli
of SwimMAC took home the Men’s 400m free relay final with a winning time of 3:22.25.
