Dana White: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a racist – Boxing news
UFC President Dana White called Floyd Mayweather Jr. a racist for calling Jeremy Lin a failure who is only popular for his Asian background.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has become the centre of criticism after his last week’s tweet on New York Knick’s Jeremy Lin, saying that Lin is only popular because of his Asian background and not his skills.
This tweet of Mayweather irked many around the world but no one knew that Dana White, the most powerful man in the UFC, will be the one confronting Mayweather for his racist comments.
Dana White has always claimed he is an avid boxing fan and he wants the sport to flourish. In this very spirit, Dana could not bear Floyd’s way of putting things down and so he tweeted on Mayweather’s tweet calling him a moron and a racist.
While many thought that was all from Dana, things went a little over the head when Mr. President spoke about Mayweather again saying, “First of all, what [Mayweather] said I think was racist. He's made a couple of racist comments and, yes, Floyd, you're
racist with the stuff that you've said.”
Dana White said this on Tuesday night on Fuel TV’s UFC tonight. It should be noted here that this is not the first time Mayweather has attempted to racially attack someone. Back in 2010, the undefeated champion went on to say stuff Filipino WBO welterweight
champion Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather said that he will make Manny cook some rice and sushi roll for him.
White, while defending Jeremy Lin, claimed, “First of all, Jeremy Lin gets all of this credit because he's an Asian player in the NBA that African Americans never get? Yeah. He's getting all this praise because he's an Asian guy playing in the NBA. You say
that African Americans don't get it? Really, Kobe Bryant doesn't get any praise? Michael Jordan never got any praise?”
White looks quite annoyed with Mayweather and it seems like he will not be forgiving him soon. In this very context, looks like there will be a bigger war of words between both of them since the duo is known for being talkative.
