Dana White: Henderson has to be blamed too for UFC 151 – UFC News
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White is still upset over UFC 151’s cancellation, even though he claims he has no regrets regarding the entire scenario. In an interview to Ariel Helwani on Fuel TV's UFC Tonight, White spoke about the
circumstances before and after UFC 151.
On one end, White revealed he has no hatred for light heavyweight titlist Jon Jones, while on the other end, White asserted that both Jones and Dan Henderson are to be blamed.
When asked if he has any regrets over the mishap, White revealed, “Nope. I don't want to speak for the UFC. I'll say no on my end, no. I have no regrets whatsoever... [Would I take anything back?] Nothing, no. What exactly did I say about Jon Jones that
was so horrible?”
However, White did assert that Henderson’s decision of keeping the injury to himself was selfish. According to White, if Henderson had told him earlier, the card had better chances of being saved.
“[Henderson's] definitely to blame, too, but there's never been a case ever in UFC history where a guy didn't step up and take the fight,” asserted White.
“Jon and I haven't talked since the incident. Do I hate Jon Jones or have any animosity toward him right now? I don't. If I did, I'd tell you, I think you know that. But it's just one of these things. We'll find out, as we move along in our relationship,
we'll find out where we're at,” said White when asked if he has any bitterness towards Jones.
It should be noted here that even though White has clarified his side of things, Jon Jones is still upset with White. In an interview, Jon Jones asserted that Dana White’s behaviour was unacceptable and unexpected. According to Jones, he always saw White
as a friend more than a boss but now things have changed.
UFC 151’s downfall has changed things for White and for Jones as well. It was the first card in White’s career that went into annulment, despite White’s best efforts of replacing Dan Henderson by ‘The American Gangster’ Chael Sonnen.
