Dana White: No more 145-pound questions for Frankie Edgar – UFC News
After saying it over and over again that Frankie Edgar should reduce weight, Dana White has finally put a full stop to the story. In a recent press conference, when White was asked about Frankie Edgar’s weight issue, President of UFC Dana White did not reveal
his plans, instead he stopped reporters from asking any questions pertaining to the issue.
White has previously mentioned that he wishes Frankie Edgar to reduce 10 pounds and fight at the featherweight division. However, Edgar has repeatedly denied working on weight reduction despite of the fact that White wants it. Edgar is currently scheduled
to face Ben Henderson at 155 lbs for the UFC 150 title but White wants this to be Edgar’s last fight at the division.
While revealing his plans, Edgar said, “Yeah, going down, I’m obviously not thinking about that right now. This fight is looming two months away. That’s all I’m thinking about, is Ben and August 11th right now.”
At the press conference yesterday, Tuesday, when White was asked about the issue, he said, “Let’s stop this because he’s seriously going to kick my a*s. No more 145-pound questions for Frankie Edgar today, please.”
Edgar’s recent performance at the division has not been impressive and the competition is growing day by day. Probably this is the reason why White wants him to go down. The featherweight division is currently short of good fighters and Edgar can be a good
fit.
Frankie Edgar believes he is done making his career choices and that he no more wants to decide on what is right and wrong for him. This is the reason why he will be doing what White wants him to do. Initially, Edgar was being considered as a rising star
but somewhere in the way he lost his focus and now he is being pushed to a lower division. Dana White is a specialist when it comes to setting up a fighter’s career and that is probably the reason why Edgar wants to do what White wants him to do.
As of now, Edgar will be facing Henderson and then going down in weight.
