Dana White: Nobody goes through more scrutiny than someone with a gaming license – UFC News
Dana White, President of UFC, has been clarifying his stance on fighting sports and their legitimacy. White has been commenting on the legitimacy of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, a reality show running on FX.
While talks of the contest being fake are in the air, White thinks otherwise. According to Dana White, the show is not fake and each and every bit of it is real. In his recent interview, White spoke his heart out regarding the show’s legitimacy. He said,
“Nobody goes through more scrutiny to get licensing than someone with a gaming license. I'm proud of the fact that casinos put betting lines on this thing. I'm proud of it. And you know what? I live in a gambling city. Gambling is legal. One of the things
I love …MGM, Mirage, The Venetian, the Las Vegas Hotel, Palms and a lot of other casinos are doing this thing where they're having
The Ultimate Fighter inside the sportsbooks. So you go in, and you watch the reality (show), and then you go up and make your bet before the fight starts.”
White added that the guys there are really nailing it hard and he thinks it is great that casinos are supporting the show. According to White, casinos supporting ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is just amazing as it will increase the show’s and the sport’s views.
He added that by doing so, casinos are helping the sport to grow enormously.
White also spoke answered J. Partick Coolican’s claims regarding the UFC and other MMA shows being real. According to White, Patrick, a columnist, is an ‘idiot’. White added that Patrick lives in Las Vegas so how can he speak about not betting on a sport
since Las Vegas is the hub of betting. White then said that the fact that most people are betting on these fights makes the sport legitimate or else no one would be betting on the fights. Finally, White said that Vegas is where people bet mostly and if Patrick
does not like it then he should not follow White on Twitter.
For now, that is all what Mr. President of UFC had to say about the legitimacy of the sport.
