Dana White: Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather need to cut the bulls*** - Boxing News
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White seems to be in rage, like most fans, when it comes to the possibility of a fight between Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao and American unbeaten fighter Floyd Mayweather.
“(Pacquiao) and Floyd Mayweather need to cut the bulls*** and do the fight that everybody wants to see,” said White in a recent interview regarding the most awaited super-fight of the millennium between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
“If there was ever a fight in history that should be fifty-fifty split, it’s this fight. Split the money, it’s a-f***in’-hundred million dollars or two hundred million — who knows what it’s gonna be? I think it’s gonna be the biggest pay-per-view ever, probably
2.6 million buys. Shut the f*** up and fight. Split the money. Just f***ing do it. People are tired of it,” he added.
White, who has been an active critic on boxing, admits that the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao would be the biggest event of the century in combat sports. On the other hand, White also knows the potential MMA holds when it comes to super-fights. He
is trying his level best to make fights between some of the elite fighters of UFC such as light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, middleweight champion Anderson Silva and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
According to White, a fight between Jon Jones and Anderson Silva would be epic, as fans want to see it more than anything. Unfortunately, Silva has disregarded the notion of facing Jones time and again. Recently, after a knockout win over Stephan Bonnar,
Silva iterated that he would never fight at the light heavyweight division again.
Nevertheless, White is confident that he would convince Silva for the fight. According to White, regardless of what Silva says right now, there will be a time when Silva will come down to it.
For now, White, like many other fans, is hoping for a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather. He believes it would be the biggest event of the century and it surely would be positive for boxing as a sport. Not just White, every other analyst thinks the same
when it comes to a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather.
