Dana White admires Anderson Silva as a mixed martial artist – UFC News
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White is upset over Chael Sonnen’s sound defeat to Anderson Silva, yet he maintains Silva is the best mixed martial artist in the league.
“Let me tell you what's always happened. Anderson is such a unique individual to deal with and you know, you've seen me. I've butted heads with this guy and that guy. We argue. It's such a different process when I'm dealing with this guy and I respect him
so much, it's like dealing with an artist,” said White while talking about Silva’s epic rematch win over Chael Sonnen.
He added, “It's like dealing with an artist or some big crazy talented actor. That's what it's like. The guy is a fighter. The two times he went to 205, it wasn't because he wanted to. It was because I asked him to.”
Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva went head to head at UFC 148. The match was a highly anticipated one, thanks to Sonnen’s trash-talking. The American Gangster promised his fans and his father to bring the UFC middleweight title home but he fell to Silva just
in the second round.
Sonnen suffered a TKO defeat, just as Silva promised. The Brazilian Spider stood by his words and thrashed Sonnen brutally in the ring.
When asked as to who will be Silva’s next opponent, White said he is unsure of it right now. He expressed his disappointment over Sonnen’s loss, yet said that he loves being involved in such circumstances. According to him, UFC is full of surprises and Sonnen’s
loss was a big hit in the head for fans of the American fighter.
After a bitter lead up to the match, most analysts were actually expecting Sonnen to finally end the era of Silva but he could not. Silva still stands as the longest reigning UFC middleweight champion. Even Dana White is unsure as to who will be the fighter
to end Silva’s reign.
There are speculations of Jon Jones facing Silva next, but nothing is sure as of now. If the bout between the two happens, it will be definitely be a crowd puller.
