Dana White calls Jon Jones a liar – UFC News
It seems like UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has forgiven President Dana White for his harsh words following UFC 151 cancellation. While Jones is looking forward to White’s support, the latter is still on the verge of making things clearer. In
an interview to MMA Fighting, White came up saying that Jones is lying if he claims he did not know UFC 151 would be cancelled.
“I'm actually glad that he did say that. I don't think he would have said that if I was there. So today we're going to be face-to-face and we'll see what he says and he doesn't say. The fact that he said he didn't know the show would be canceled is false.
I did tell him the show would be cancelled,” said White in response to Jones’ comments suggesting the light heavyweight was unaware of the fact that if he did not fight Chael Sonnen, the entire event would go into annulment.
“I think he takes this thing, or is acting like he's taking it, lightly, which he shouldn't be. The fact that the fight was canceled isn't a joke. It's not funny and a lot of people were affected by it. There was a lot of collateral damage that happened
with the cancelling of the show. We'll see how this goes,” White added.
Jones is currently scheduled to defend his title against ‘old lion’ Vitor Belfort at UFC 150. The duo will be highlighting the event.
Jones, who has been UFC’s favourite fighter all these years, wants White to forget about the entire UC 151 saga and support him. However, it seems like White has not yet forgotten the fact that he had to suffer his career’s first ever card cancellation just
because of Jones.
As of now, White is in no mood to forgive Jones. Although Jones has repeatedly claimed that he has no hard feelings for White, the President is still trying to remind Jones of his wrongdoings. For White, this might be a story without an ending. After all,
he had to face the humiliation while Jones was busy passing statements against Chael Sonnen.
