Dana White clarifies Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko scenario – UFC News
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White has clarified that he is not planning a fight between former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko. According to White, he only meant to ask fans if they would be interested
in watching both the fighters lock horns.
“What happened was, there was a question, saying, 'Could Dana make this fight?' Then, I asked them, 'Well, how many people really wanna see this fight?' I was asking a question,” said White.
“I guess a couple people wanna see that fight. I'll tell you this. I have done so much to try and get Fedor into the UFC. You guys know that, and you know how I am. When I say this publicly, like this is an obsession, I gotta get this thing done, and I tried
to get it done. The crazy thing is, now everybody's asking me if I can make this fight, but Fedor's retired! The guy retired. I couldn't get him when he was fighting. Now, we're on such good terms, I'm gonna pull him out of retirement?” he added.
Brock Lesnar is currently in the World Wrestling Federation. He made his comeback some months back but then tried to bounce back to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. However, his meeting with Dana White did not exactly go as he expected, and so the youngest
WWE champion is back in the ring to wrestle. Chances are that Lesnar will stick to wrestling now for the rest of his career, as his stomach injuries will not allow him to take ‘real’ kicks and punches to the belly.
On the other hand, Dana White is busy trying to find opponents for UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The recent cancellation of UFC 151 has made White even more aggressive and strict towards making competitive
matches. Lesnar was the man who took UFC to the heights, but now there is no place for him.
White has already previously stated that Lesnar will not come back to the UFC for reasons unrevealed. Considering his injury issues, one can easily say that Lesnar’s comeback can only be a desperate move for the company in times of need.
