Dana White does not want to rush in with the code of conduct – UFC News
Dana White, President of UFC, is still not convinced that he should rush in with the enforcement of code of conduct for the UFC superstars. Zuffa, LLC, the parent company of Strikeforce and the UFC, is currently under a lot of criticism for the recent controversies
that have stirred up due to the superstars of both the fighting leagues.
According to White, he will take his time to consider enforcing a code of conduct that most sports organisations follow. He added, “I’m gonna take it as it comes. I hear this stuff all the time, and it seems like a lot lately. This isn’t the NFL. This isn’t
the NBA. This is a completely different business. This is a completely different business model. We deal with these guys, we care about these guys. I don’t want our fighters at the end of their careers to be broke and not have paid their taxes. You guys look
at the whole PED side of this and what’s going on, and then you look at guys getting in trouble, and there’s just so much that goes on."
He added that the stuff they are talking is the stuff that is mostly public and people see it and listen about it everyday. He further said that most poeple are uanware of how much expletive goes on around them since they do not see it or hear about it.
In other words, White is not completely convinced with the idea of having a code of conduct for fighters, let alone enforcing it. White further said that both the organisations deal with human beings and that he is unable to understand how anyone can enforce
a code of conduct. According to White, you cannot tell them not to do this and not to do that, and the only way is to deal with things as they come.
However, when it came to PEDs, White did admit that UFC would start administering its own drug tests to clean up the sport. For now, White believes that drug tests are imperative, whereas enforcing a code of conduct is not. White believes that every situation
should be dealt with separately and not as the same one repeatedly.
