Dana White is not in the mood to talk about UFC 150’s main event – UFC News
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White has had a tough year, as most of the UFC events did go as well as he expected. White, who usually is a dominant force when it comes to making decisions, finds himself out of words regarding the main
event of UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II.
“Ben Henderson has won twice, the judges have given him the decision both times. I’m not gonna go out there and give my decision that doesn’t matter anyway,” said White in an interview with MMA Fighting.
White was disappointed with the split decision win given to Ben Henderson even though Frankie Edgar dominated most rounds.
“Well, it doesn’t matter what you guys think either,” White added.
“If you leave it at the hands of the judges, one of you is going to be bummed out at the press conference.”
“I’m not a judge and my opinion doesn’t matter, but I had it even going into the last round and I gave the last round to Frankie.”
Nevertheless, White did accept the fact that the fight was a close one and difficult to judge.
White even spoke about Edgar’s future. Speculations suggest the former lightweight champion is planning to move down in weight, to the 155-pound division. When asked, White revealed he has no clue about it.
White, who always has sweet words for Edgar, said the organisation loves Edgar for his contributions and they will not force him into anything. White revealed that he would not convince Edgar to move down in weight.
According to White, Edgar has earned the right to do whatever he wants to with his career, as he has always been there whenever the UFC needed him.
For now, White is disappointed but he believes the judges are the ones who make the decision and no one has the right to comment on that. White believes Edgar should have won the showdown. Considering the fact that the president has already regarded the
fight as a tough one, chances of a rematch to settle the score between the two are rare.
