Dana White is satisfied with UFC of Fox 4 – UFC News
President of UFC Dana White was highly disappointed over UFC 148’s results. He expressed his dismay at several platforms, promising fans better events in the future. Now, it seems like the ‘Boss’ has finally achieved the milestone, as he believes past Saturday’s
UFC on Fox 4 was an enthralling experience.
“It was a great night. Every fight was great and everyone delivered. I always want the best showing we can possibly have. I know how talented these athletes are and what they're capable of doing,” said White.
White had promised fans that the best fighter of UFC on Fox 4 would go ahead to face UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in September. Since according to the President, Lyoto Machida impressed him the most, he declared him the contender.
“[Machida was] most impressive not just in the knockout, but it seems he wants it more right now then Shogun does,” White added.
Defending his decision of placing Machida as the contender while most fans were hoping Shogun Rua to be it, White said, “Shogun's not given me the vibe that he's ready for a title shot. Machida flat-out told me he wants this fight again. Shogun isn't overwhelming
me with demands to fight for the title.”
It should be noted here that Dana White has previously claimed getting calls from Machida, insisting him for a title shot. In an interview earlier this week, White expressed his joy over Machida’s commitment to the sport. According to him, Machida is hungry
for the shot, which will make the event worthwhile.
As for Shogun Rua, White is of the view that Rua still needs more time to perfect his art. Even Rua admits that and he has promised fans he will perform better in the upcoming.
Yesterday, White was furious over fans and analysts declining the idea of a fight between Machida and Jones for the title. White exploded with anger saying no one can decide who the rightful contender is until they know about the sport. He even said that
anyone who believes the fight will not be good should not watch it.
