Dana White reveals his only career mistake – UFC Special
President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White revealed his career’s only mistake in a recent interview. As posted by MMA Mania, the ‘Boss’ regrets his decision of using a g*y slur through a video. According to White, he regrets nothing he has
done in the past twelve years as president of UFC, apart from the video.
“You guys have to understand this, but this is the way I am,” said White. “. I have no regrets. The only thing that I regret is in that video blog when I used the 'F word.' That's the only thing throughout the 12 years of running the UFC. The way I came
off in that thing, people still think I'm some kind of homophobe, and I'm not. That still bothers me.”
It should be noted here that ever since that video was posted, White has been making efforts to welcome homosexual fighters to UFC.
“There are a lot of things I'm really proud of. We've revolutionized the fight business. We've done things in the fight business that nobody has ever done in the history of combat sports, including health insurance for fighters. We're tweaking and fixing
things. It seems like every way you turn, someone is waiting for you to fail. I tell you what: they'll be waiting a long time for this one to fail,” he added.
White knows that unfortunately, he cannot wipe off what he did and say and that a lot of people still think he is against homosexual people.
Dana White has been UFC’s president for the past twelve years. During his reign, he has changed the world of MMA. Today, mixed martial arts is seen as the next big thing in the fight business. While boxing still remains the most favoured combat sport, mixed
martial arts is slowly moving up in rankings. White believes there will be a time when mixed martial arts will be the most viewed combat sport in the world.
For now, White believes whatever he has done for the UFC is good enough and that he will do better in the future.
