Danai Udomchoke defeats Malek Jaziri in the second round – Seoul Challenger 2012 CH
Fourth seeded, Malek Jaziri, received a straight-set shocker at the hands of the Thai veteran, Danai Udomchoke, in the round two of the Samsung Securities Cup Challenger 2012. Udomchoke delightfully concluded his win 6-3, 6-4 on
the eve of Wednesday on the hard courts of Deco Turf, Korea.
The two encountered each other for the first time in their tennis careers. Although the fourth seeded initially struggled to clinch the lead but he was unable to perform to his optimal potential. The duo concluded the match in
one hour and 19 minutes.
Ranked 153rd in the South African Airways ATP World Tour Rankings, Udomchoke held his serve for the initial part of the opener. The two provided each other with strong competition and the score line levelled down to
2-all in the fourth game. The Thai senior secured long awaited lead in the seventh game and stamped a 4-2 lead. The seeded player completely lost his passion and was unable to provide any resistance in response. Udomchoke swiftly grabbed all the games, terminating
the set with a 6-3 score line.
In the second set, the fourth seeded contender commenced a sloppy start of the opener and was unable to rally forward. The 31-year-old Thai participant made a smart move as he grabbed the initial two games and took the lead. Despite
of Jaziri losing edge, he gradually picked up his morale and levelled down the score line to 2-all in the fourth game and cashed his competitors serve for the first time. This stimulated the Thai and he took a flying start towards the end and responded by
dissolving his Tunisian rival's serve in the very next game. He confidently snatched all the games from his challenger and stole the lime light by marking a 6-4 win.
The 28-year-old Tunisian player had a better initial serve precision of 67 percent, converting 22 of 35 first and nine of 17 second delivery point. He lagged behind for obtaining one from the five serve breaks and his opponent
won three from six to surpas him. The right-hander Thai senior secured 62 percent first serve with 28 of 43 points.
