Question:

Danby portable washing machines?

I live in an apartment building with 12 units and 2 washers and dryers : ( Needless to say we are looking for a portable washer so that we can atleast wash and hang dry things on our own time. Has anyone used the Danby portable washer? It seems to be very reasonably priced. Can you really just hook it to the sink and plug it into the wall or is a special outlet required? Thanks

  1. I have seen a few when I worked for an appliance company. Not many came in for service at all but I don't know if this is due to lack of popularity or they were very reliable. Our company sold the portable Inglis/Whirlpool and they seemed to work quite well. If you decide on the Danby, your probably pretty safe. Even if you only get 5 years out of it, it will have paid for itself compared to laundry mat prices.

You're correct in that they connect to your kitchen sink with an adapter which is included with the washing machine and they plug into a standard 110 volt outlet.
