  1. Be Calm And Smile. Seem Like you know what you are doing. don't get in panic. Smile...that always works

  2. Don't think about this as an exam: Think of it as a performance.

    1. Well, firstly would be to know your routine/exercises off by heart and make sure that your technique is correct and you are musical (in time was the music and your movements bring out the beat/expression of the music). Knowing your stuff and doing it correctly is always what gains higher marks in exams. If you have a partner, make sure you have unison, everyone, including examiners, loves unison; it's a total wow factor.

    2. Secondly, jazz/disco is an energetic style of dance so perform that you show the examiner that you have a lot of energy and strength (if you get puffed about during the exam don't try and slow down, it'll only make you more tried). So the examiner that you are having fun and they will have fun watching you.

    3. SMILE!!!! Not one of those cheesy huge grins but, always have a nice pleasant smile to show that you want to be in that exam and you are ready for it. This sends a really good message to the examiner. You'd be surprised about how many people walk into an exam looking so serious or like they have just arrived from a funeral or going to their grave.

    4. Clothing, make sure you have clean exam clothing and make sure your shoes are clean (Most IMPORTANT).

    5. Always be polite and try not to get the examiner's name wrong (I did that one year! lol). If she asks you a question smile and say politely, "yes mrs/mr...” or “no mrs/mr..."

    6. Relax and take a deep breath and stay calm. If the examiner sees that you are not extremely tense and calm and calculated they will take a more liking to you. Think before you do something.

Other then that, I don't really know what else to give you. I hope it all goes well for you and I hope this helps!

    Good Luck!

  3. tell the examiner to have a nice day.

  4. There are many things you can do to prepare for an exam, and perform well in one. Here's a great list!

    1. Ensure you have all equiptment you need for your exams. Ensure all leotards, shoes, and tights are clean, don't have holes and fit well! Also make sure you have pleanty of hairspray, bobby pins, hairnets etc.

    2. If it is easier to put yuor hair up wet into a bun, have a shower before your exam. If not, then don't.

    3. When putting your hair up, ensure it is very neat and you catch all wispies and flyaways. Use gel and hairspray to hold it into place.

    4. Get to your exam at least half an hour to fourty five minutes early. Come with your exam clothes on underneath some warm ups.

    5. Find a quiet space to warm up adequately. If you have an mp3 player or ipod, listen to this to calm yourself.

    6. If it doesn't make you nervous, practise your exam syllabus before you go in. Try and ignore (i know it sounds mean!) the other girls who begin to forget right before they go in. Just listen to your ipod or go walk away to warm up.

    7. When in the exam room, do not talk. Walk neatly. And don't forget to smile. Smiling is a part of presentation. Not smiling is the difference between honours and highly commended.

    8. Have fun! Don't be nervous. Don't think of it as an exam, just every day class. Give everything your fullest - not trying at all is also the difference between high marks and low marks.

    9. DANCE everything. Don't just go through the motions. Really put your passion in, like i know you have!

    10. Believe in yourself. If you radiate confidence, the examiner will like you.

    11. Be polite and courteous to the examiner. Make sure you know their name before you go in, so at the end of your exam you can bow and say "thank you miss so and so."

You will be fine! I know you know your stuff, and your a great dancer!
