  2. Believe in yourself! You'll do fantastic!!

  3. Hey today is your audition - how did it go?

Congratulations on your audition for young dancers associates. There's a times-on-line article about the auditions along with photos in the photo gallery of times-on-line so you can see the variety of leotards people wore.

Apparently about 75-100 dancers (all age groups) did the November audition and about 6 places were offered to the older age group.

From the photos, maost girls are wearing black camisole leotards with perfect smooth hair, no wisps. There are a couple of girls in pastel leotards and one in bright red.

In November the audition classes ended up being about half an hour.

Good luck and hope the article and photo link are useful.

  4. Good luck - not that you'll need it!

I'm currently at a dance school and its fantastic!

Erm i wore my white ballet tight, black leotard, black ballet skirt and my demi-pointe shoes with ribbons. My hair was scraped back into a tight bun - nothing fancy.

Don't overdo! Don't wear too much make up, obviously foundation if required but nothing much. And just smile all the time - they look for potential talent, not somebody who already is fantastic!

    xx

  5. First of all, good luck for your audition!

Well, you will definately want to have your hair in a neat classical bun - no fringes or ponytails. Clean reasonably pink tights without any runs or holes. If it says to wear a plain black leotard in any information you have about the audition, wear that, but if you can choose, go for one that fits well, is comfortable and flatters you. A dark colour (not necessarily black, maybe dark green or navy if you have one) would be better than bright red or electric blue (less in-your-face for the judges - this is a classical ballet audition) and simple usually looks better, so no fancy straps, two-tone leotards etc. If you are worried about being the only one in a colour, bring a plain black camisole leo - it's hard to go wrong with that. I don't know what type of ballet shoes they'd want you to wear - your (clean) regular ballet flats, I suppose, but I would bring some (clean) satins with ribbons just in case. And you will most probably do at least some of the class on pointe, so bring your pointes (with ribbons) but try to make sure they're not  brand new or dead ones.

In the actual audition, remember to smile and be confident! Even if you mess something up a bit, try to keep going and at least finish it nicely!

    Good luck!
