Some good starter artists:

Daft Punk, Justice, Basement Jaxx, Cicada, Vengaboys, the B-52s.  Annie if you like a hint of pop with your electronica.  Royksopp if your want something downtempo for a bit.  Junior Boys, The Avalanches, The Knife.
