Dance???????????????

We just moved to the city and so we have to find a new dance studio for me. I dance Ballet, Jazz, Hip hop, Tap and a couple of different kinds of Lyrical. I'm not sure what level I'm in because where we used to live they wouldn't tell us anything about levels. My mom says that I could still go to the place I went before only I would have to prepare a little earlier so we could get there on time. But she is also suggesting that I go to "La danse" but I don't feel comfortable because of all these girls that are so great and I have no idea what I'm doing (keep in mind that where I used to live, they wouldn't teach you properly).

And then there's this place where my friend goes but I don't think I'd be in her level. I'm not very good at making friend because I'm shy. I've already told my mom that I want to take classes alone but she says it would be too expensive. Our price range is up to 1000$ MAX because where I used to live it was 200$ dollars a year (for all the dances I take) including costumes and Where I live now it costs1000$ for only TWO classes and that's not including costumes (Over at "La danse").

Do you guy's know any ideas of where I could go that has all my dances and in our price range? (Saskatoon) Maybe even classes alone?

Thanks in advance!

  1. I would suggest taking group classes even thought you want to take classes alone. I learn better when i see people better than me and that moticates me. It's also much cheaper and i guarantee you can make friends. When you end up seeing these people 2 or 4 times a week you get to know them and you don't have to start up a buch of conversations. As for the actual studio, if you take group classes it would be cheaper and you can take more ar La danse. When you want to take a lot of classes at a good studio it's usually more expensive. Wow $200 a year? thats really cheap. I don't think you will find anything as cheap as that! Ok so you have a few final choices. If you want to take classes at La danse (you will be taught well and better than your last studio) you would have to take group classes and it would probably be a little over $1000 a year or you could see how much it cost's at your friend's studio and you would already know somebody. Your last choice is to go to your old studio which is cheaper but its not being taught as well. Do some more research... If you don't want to go to la danse because of the price then i bet there are at least 5 more studios local to you. Good luck!!

  2. Hi! dancing is the language of the soul. Its one of the ancient ways of communicating especially our inner thoughts and feelings. Dance has played a very significant role in history..In fact dancing has defined history!

I suggest that you find a dance group where you don't have to compete with each other nor worry about your level. You can start by asking around. Go to the park, see some post ads..or you can organize a dance group yourself.

If you want to dance, nobody should stop you from doing it!

    Keep on dancing!

  3. Go to each studio that you are thinking about going to and ask the teacher if you can take a free trail based one day class to see if you like the class and the girls. Most Studios let you do this. Also When you are there talk to them about prices and fundraisers if you  need them. Most studios do those too.

    Best of luck to you!
